Marsha’s Place: miDDLE sCHOOL gAY- stRAIGHT ALLIANCE SPACE
A Genders & Sexualities Alliance (GSA) is a student-run club, typically in a high school or middle school, which provides a safe place for students to meet, support each other, talk about issues related to sexual orientation and gender identity and expression, and work to end homophobia and transphobia.
In honor trailblazer and LGBTQ+ activist, Marsha P. Johnson, students named our “brave space” after her. Students meet two times per week as a community to:
Share and express their feelings in a brave space
Create positive change within our school
Use GLSEN resources to support the group
